Harding Hank and Friends

Hallvard T. Bjørgum, here playing under the alias Harding Hank, has received a lot of praise for his personal and original approach to music. Peace Will Come is no exception: the release is a wonderful example of how musical collaboration and playfulness create new musical expressions. Bjørgum is considered one of the leading fiddle players in Norway, and is one of the key figures in Norwegian folk music. However, on this release he pays tribute to the country music of his own youth, with special tribute to Hank Williams. But the roots from folk music are still present, and Harding Hank lets his fiddle lead the way through a mix of country, folk, rock and traditional music, accompanied by a number of world famous artists from different musical backgrounds.

Tribute to Country Music

Hallvard T. Bjørgum is considered one of the leading fiddle players in Norway, and is highly respected for his contribution to Norwegian folk music. At Peace Will Come, he plays under the alias Harding Hank, paying tribute to the country music of his youth – especially to the legendary Hank Williams, who wrote the title track "(I’m Praying for The Day That) Peace Will Come", in addition to several songs on the release.

Dream Team

Peace Will Come is a strong production that in its mixture of country, folk songs, rock and folk music is free from narrow-minded genre limitations. Bjørgum has also been joined by a range of world-famous musicians and artists. The release features the likes of Garth Hudson from The Band, Rick Danko, Eric Andersen, Blondie Chaplin, Lisa Fischer (both back up vocals for The Rolling Stones) and Ed Kaercher as well as Lillebjørn Nilsen, Kirsten Bråten Berg, Jonas Fjeld, Paolo Vinaccia and Bjørgulv Straume.

Groundbreaking Music

The project is characterized by a fearless fusion of different genres, songs, musicians and instruments, held together by Bjørgum´s fiddle play. The album opens with two Williams songs and ends with "Myllarguten". Between these musical extremes are a varied repertoire, including Robbie Robertson’s "Twilight" and "Nils, Jens & Jeidaug", a modern folk song with folk musicians Kirsten Bråten Berg and rock veteran Blondie Chaplin. We also find several of Bjørgum´s own compositions. The release ends with five bonus tracks recorded in the home of the late Rick Danko in Woodstock in 1994, here released on CD for the first time. The CD booklet contains photos from Bjørgum career and thorough background information.
