Tone Kruse studied at the Norwegian Academy of Music and the Norwegian National College of Operatic Art, and made her debut in Oslo in 1981. Kruse worked at the Cologne opera for seven years, and was a member of the soloist ensemble at Den Norske Opera & Ballett from 1991 to 2005.
