asamisimasa was formed in Oslo in 2002. The ensemble has played in festivals like Ultima, Borealis, GAS, Huddersfield, Cutting Edge, Roaring Hooves, 2Days & 2Nights a.o.

The ensemble combines performances of the classical repertoire and post-war avant-garde with new pieces especially written for them, also including electronics, video or other media. The ensemble has collaborated with composers such as Helmut Lachenmann, Aldo Clementi, Michael Finnissy, Chris Dench and many Scandinavian composers such as Dror Feiler, Sven Lyder Kahrs and Simon Steen-Andersen. Projects include portrait of composers Helmut Lachenmann, Aldo Clementi, Nicolaus A Huber, Mathias Spahlinger, a concert series based around the work of Marcel Duchamp, CD recordings, as well as premieres by many European composers.
