Oslo 3 contains two of Lillebjørn Nilsen's most beloved songs: "Stilleste gutt på sovesal 1" where Nilsen reminisces back to his boyhood and "Bysommer" - the song that more than any other is considered to be Oslo's own song! Oslo 3 fortified Nilsen's role as an Oslo artist. Nonetheless, he moves beyond his home town and the local point of departure. He has brought traditional tunes from Chile ("Luchin") and Pakistan ("Hane på taket") and has put Norwegian texts to them. Several of the lyrics depict various European cities. In "Paris" the choruses are even performed in French, while the beautiful and evocative "Angelikas kaker. Postkort" gives us snapshots from cities like Hamburg and Brussels. Oslo 3 shows how the beloved artist draws inspiration from both near and far, reminding us that Lillebjørn Nilsen is a local artist with international span.
