Sigmund Groven completes his successful trilogy.

Sigmund Groven released the first album – in a series of three – in 2014, with selected recordings from his career spanning over 40 years as a recording artist. In 2015 he released his second album, “Tradition”, and now his third and final release of the trilogy, “Concerto”, is finally out!

Sigmund Groven has a long and well established history in Norwegian musical life: he held his first radio concert already in 1965, his first television performance in 1966, his first national tour in 1971, and released his debut album in 1975. In 2015, Groven therefore celebrated two anniversaries, and was also appointed knight, first class by the Order of St. Olav.

Coinciding with this release is also a third anniversary for Groven in a short amount of time: his 70th birthday. “Concerto” has a classical musical profile, and contains highlights from Groven´s long career in addition to new and previously unreleased recordings.

A musical ambassador

Sigmund Groven´s merit list tells of an important musical ambassador for Norway, and he is still busy taking on new projects: this year´s agenda is soloist jobs with Trondheim symphony orchestra and the Norwegian Radio Orchestra, in addition to concerts abroad.

Sigmund Groven´s many recordings has achieved great popularity both at home and abroad, especially in Asia. “HarmOrgan”, recorded with the organist Iver Kleive in Blu-ray surround sound, was in 2012 awarded the prize for “Best recording” at the Guangzhou Music Awards in China. Sigmund has throughout his career toured the entire world, most notably a concert in New Yorks Carnegie Hall, as a soloist with a range of orchestras in Canada and USA, most notably with the Dallas symphony orchestra where he also was appointed an honorary citizen of the state of Texas. In Asia he has toured in Japan, with concerts in Casis Hall in Tokyo as well as in Kyoto Concert Hall, South-Korea, where the country´s biggest TV-channel presented a longer show about his music during one of his visits, as well as Singapore, Saudi Arabia and Taiwan.
